Diane Smith Celebrates Thirty Summers at Runoia

We had a big party for Diane as she has spent years and years in camping all over the country (and internationally) and has culminated with thirty summers of fun and sun with us at Runoia. Stories were told, Chad's video honoring Diane was amazing. Check on our www.runoia.com site under "families" menu and summer videos to see the video posted or start the video below. It's just 4 minutes and it is great! We are planning another Diane celebration at camp with an alumnae gathering in July - so be sure to come on up to camp to celebrate Diane's thirty summers with us at Runoia. The date is July 31 for a 4 pm gathering and dedication, cookout and campfire with alumane guitarist Boop and Matti!

Pictured in the snap shot of our gathering left to right back row to front row are:

Chad Diamond, Carrie Murphey, Betty Jo Howard, Alex Jackson, "K" Bolduc
Matti Williams Bradley, Ginny Geyer, Joan Bayne Williams, DIANE SMITH, Roberta "Boop" Tabell Jordan,
Jamie Cluchey, Jody Sataloff, Pam Cobb Heuberger, Harriet Hubbard

February is Rolling By!

The day after vacation can be a real creaky one. It's great to see friends again and even good to get back into a routine (once you get going). There's a feeling like one foot still walking about in your off-school/off-work life on vacation and then the other that's almost eagerly tapping to get back into the swing of things.

At Camp Runoia, we are planning a lot for the summer, knowing the end of February school break for most of the US is a momumental milestone for the coming of summer and CAMP!

We have a few new surprises at Runoia in store for our returning campers - should we reveal the surprises? What a dilema we face. The surprise on your faces when you arrive at camp are too dear and precious to let the cat out of the bag now. So, you'll just have to wait.

Meanwhile, "study hard and then, back to canoes and paddles!"

Longer Days at Runoia Means We are Closer to Summer

The daylight hours at camp are getting longer. We are getting closer every day to the summer solstice and the start of our 104th camp season at Camp Runoia.

We are looking forward to:

Our highest number of returning campers ever!
Discovering the new and improved program schedules for maximizing adventure and learning.
Continuing the pilot program in Farm Majors: 8 hens a laying and the seed catalogs are here!
Enjouying the ever popular Waterskiing and Wood Burning activities.
Fantastic horses from Northwood Stables.
Enthusiastic counselors who are excited to summer to begin.
The return of the Foggy Notion (19' cabin crusier sail boat) added to our fleet in 2009.

Keep in touch and keep coming back to the Official Runoia Blog Spot!
